Three EACP clusters start working on the new European Clean Aviation Regional Ecosystem (ECARE) project, the transversal Coordination & Support Action from Clean Aviation.
Starting on January 1st, three major European aeronautical clusters (Aerospace Valley, Hamburg Aviation, Campania Aerospace District) and the European Aeronautics Science Network (EASN) started work together to identify technology topics, funding complementarities and synergies between regional, national and European funding programs. Other European aeronautical clusters and their funding bodies will be involved as well through a mechanism called ECARE Stakeholders Group (ESG). To create synergy mechanisms for European funders, methodologies will be developed based on the data from four pilot regions: Occitanie (France), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (France), Hamburg (Germany) and Campania (Italy). These synergy mechanisms aim to be applicable to other EU aeronautical regions as well.
One of the core objectives of ECARE is to establish a digital platform for European aeronautical players, which will continue to be available after the project ends. The platform will include a mapping of funding opportunities for the aeronautical sector, relevant projects and scientific/industrial competences and resources, on all three layers. Simultaneously, the platform will serve as a forum to exchange information and find partners.
To get involved in the project, European Aeronautical Actors can still become part of the ECARE Stakeholders Group throughout the project. Advantages include: consultation on preliminary project results, pre-access to the ECARE website and it’s functionalities as well as participation in certain workshops launched by the core consortium.

ECARE is running until the end of 2024.
