At the present time the BBAA represents about 100 enterprises, with the leading companies being Rolls-Royce Germany, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services and Lufthansa Technik. Rolls-Royce Germany is located in the capital region Berlin-Brandenburg in Dahlewitz. The development and assembly center was inaugurated in 1993. Alongside production of the BR710, the facility assembles a range of business jet engines including the BR725 and Tay 611-8C, as well as the V2500 for the Airbus A320 aircraft family. The Dahlewitz site is also home to testing facilities for Rolls-Royce’s new power gearbox. n 2017 the Dahlewitz site will also start assembling the Trent XWB, the world's most efficient large civil aero engine, complementing our main XWB assembly facility in Derby, UK. Nowadays the site employs over 2300 people. 

Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services was founded in 1997 as a joint Venture of Lufthansa Technik AG and the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. The company headquarters is utilizes a surface of 8000 m² at the Berlin-Schönefeld Airport and represents the first Bombardier service center outside North America. LBAS offers services in maintenance and overhaul to inspection of the hull, engines and wheels or repair and modification services. 

Luftansa Technik is located in Tegel and Schönefeld and constitutes the transition center for the Eastern maintenance region. While the station in Tegel specializes in Line Maintenance, more than 100 C-checks are being performed in Schönefeld. In addition to its two existing sites, Lufthansa Technik also has a presence at the future Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport (BER), with a new, state-of-the-art maintenance hangar.

The leading research and development facilities Fraunhofer IAP and Fraunhofer IPK are the main R&D actors in the region. Fraunhofer is the largest research organization for applied research in Europe and was founded in 1949. Their research areas are: health, safety, communication, mobility, energy and environment.

The Research Division Polymeric Materials and Composites PYCO is a collaboration between Fraunhofer and the Chair of Polymer Materials of Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus (BTU) where chemists, physicists, engineers and technicians of Fraunhofer sites in Teltow and Wildau as well as t BTU are developing highly crosslinked polymers (thermosets) for all applications with particular reference to aviation, IT-technology and instrumentation.

Frauenhofer IPK (Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology) in Berlin stands for over 35 years of excellence in production science. They conduct applied research and development across product development, production processes, maintenance of investment goods, and product recycling to the design and management of manufacturing companies, so the whole process spectrum of manufacturing industry. IPK is structured in seven divisions: Corporate Management, Virtual Product Creation, Production Systems, Joining and Coating Technology, Automation Technology, Quality Management, and Medical Technology. Close collaboration between divisions permits them to tackle even extremely complex issues.

BBAA also works closely with Technical Universities of Berlin and Cottbus-Senftenberg and the University for applied sciences in Wildau and Brandenburg.
