Cluster Competence and Strategy


Two main technology focuses in aerospace: a) gas turbine engines and b) actuation and control systems. Also, the related supply chain technologies (machining hard metals, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and electronic control systems). Relatively small activities in these technology areas: aerostructures, avionics, general aviation, composites, aircraft interiors, space.

Networking, business development and marketing, technology funding and technology project management, productivity support.

  • Participant in Interreg North West Europe project TransNetAero 2012-15.
  • Good bilateral links to other clusters: Torino Piemonte, Connecticut, for example.
  • Lead partner in H2020 project CLASSIC (Clusters of Aerospace Suppliers Share Innovation Capabilities), 2018
