Managers and representatives from prime European aerospace clusters will meet in Seville

The Andalusian cluster Hélice will be hosting this annual meeting which is going to bring members from the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP) together in Seville. This is a network of European clusters aimed at strengthening the position of the European aerospace industry in the world markets. This initiative is going to be held in the framework of the convention “Aerospace and Defence Meetings Seville 2012”, the first International airshow taking place in Seville and Andalusia. The most outstanding enterprises and companies will be attending this event.

Seville, 8 March 2012. Directors, managers and representatives from prime European aerospace clusters will get together next May in Seville with the objective of analyzing current projects and performances carried out by the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP), and establish new ways of collaboration to keep boosting this strategic industry in Europe and ensuring Europe’s leading position in the world aerospace market.

The Andalusian aerospace cluster Hélice will be the hold member of this annual meeting, which is going to be attended by the most important European clusters, as well as the most relevant aerospace entities from countries like France, Germany or Italy. EACP has currently 39 partners from 13 different countries, among them the cluster Hélice.

The meeting will be held in the framework of the convention “Aerospace and Defense Meetings 2012”, which will be held in Seville from 14 to 17 May. It will be the first international airshow taking place in Spain and Andalusia. The aerospace cluster Hélice will be also hosting this meeting, which is planned to be attended by major aerospace international enterprises and entities, OEMs, top level suppliers (tier one) and auxiliary enterprises.

The “Aerospace and Defence Meetings” will act as a platform to exchange experiences and a meeting point for the aeronautical supply chain, enabling Andalusian companies to do business and contact partners, suppliers and new customers. The event is organized by the Trade Promotion Agency Andalusia (Extenda), entity under the Regional Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Science, in collaboration with Advanced Business Events (ABE), a company specializing in international events for the aerospace industry.

More than 200 hundred aerospace enterprises and entities will be attending the “ADM Seville 2012”, such as EADS, Bombardier, Eurocopter, Dassault Aviation, Airbus Operations France, Thales Alenia Space, Siemens, or the Spanish tier one Alestis Aerospace, Aernnova and Aciturri.

 

About Hélice, Andalusian Aerospace Cluster

The Andalusian aerospace Cluster Hélice is a business aerospace group established in 2004, aimed at boosting knowledge, participation and collaboration in the national and international sphere among the enterprises and entities of the cluster (tractors, auxiliary industry, technology centres, Academia, Administration, business organizations and trade unions). Likewise, it helps to transfer results of research and technologies related to the industry. It is also in charged of organizing training activities, technical seminars and conferences to qualify the aeronautical professionals with scientific-technical skills. 

The Andalusian aerospace industry had a turnover of €1,983 millions and 10,278 employees in 2010 which signified an increment of 26% and 10% respectively compared to the year before, according to the Andalusian Statistics Report 2009-2010 carried out by Hélice.

The Andalusian aerospace industry currently involve 123 enterprises, 90% of them are concentrated in the axle Seville-Cadiz. Among them, the presence of three Spanish Tier 1 should be highlighted, Alestis, Aciturri and Aernnova. It is also equipped with highly technology premises like the Aerospace Technology Park Aerópolis in Seville and the Park TecnoBahía in Cadiz and the Centre for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC).
